The Shinden Fudo Ryu Katana Shinken is a handmade Japanese sword built specifically for intensive martial arts training. Characterized by a large but lightweight blade, this katana is forged from 1060 high carbon steel using the traditional Maru Kitae method, ensuring durability, flexibility, and excellent cutting control. The blade features double bohi to further reduce weight and improve handling dynamics, and displays a clean and traditional Suguha hamon.

This katana is full tang, with the blade securely anchored to the tsuka using two bamboo mekugi, offering excellent stability for high-impact practice. The handle is wrapped with high-quality Italian leather Tsukagawa in alternate tsukamaki style over real ray skin (Samegawa) and fitted with hishigami for a firmer and more ergonomic grip.

The black lacquered wooden saya includes premium fittings crafted from real buffalo horn at the koiguchi, kurikata, and kojiri—highlighting the sword’s elite construction and visual refinement. The katana is supplied with an elegant purple cotton bag and is delivered without sageo.
