1. About Us
Who are you and where are you based?
YariNoHanzo is a small team passionate about Japanese culture. We are based in Europe, as are our warehouses. This means our European customers do not need to worry about customs.
All our handmade swords are crafted following traditional methods. We design every piece, carefully select materials, and continuously improve quality while complying with the latest regulations.

How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 3–4 business days after payment. Delivery usually takes 7–10 days, depending on the courier. Pre-order items ship according to the timeframe shown on each product page.
How can I track my order?

3. Customization
Can I order a custom Katana?
Yes! We encourage you to create your own Katana tailored to your practice and preferences. You can personalize every detail using our configurator: Open the Custom Katana Configurator.
Can you engrave the blade?
Yes, we offer basic engraving during production only. You must order the engraving together with your Katana several months before the desired delivery date. Please contact us for pricing.

Yes, returns/exchanges are possible under these conditions:

- Custom-made products and items in the "YariNoHanzo Handmade" category (custom Katana and made-to-measure uniforms like Shinobi Shozoku) are non-returnable.
Returns from countries outside the European Union: returns are accepted; however, all costs are borne by the customer (shipping, customs duties, and import VAT at customs), unless the product was delivered defective or incorrect.
Please double-check sizes, measurements, dimensions, and product type before ordering. For any doubt prior to purchase, contact Customer Service at customerservice@yarinohanzo.com.
5. Product Information & Use
Are your Katana suitable for martial arts practice?
Yes. All blades are hand-forged using traditional methods, hand-polished, and full tang (the Nakago extends through the Tsuka). Assemblies are carefully made without screws or welding to ensure durability and safety.
Are your Katana Saya (scabbards) custom-fitted to each blade?
Not individually. Small gaps may exist inside the Saya so the blade can move slightly—this is normal and helps keep prices accessible. In some cases, inserts are used to reduce internal gaps.
Can I use your Katana for blade-to-blade combat?
No. Japanese swords are not designed for blade-to-blade combat. Always practice under a qualified instructor—even with unsharpened blades. We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse.
Are your swords full tang?
Yes, all our swords are full tang.
Why is there wax on the blade and inside the Saya?
This is normal. Wax makes the wood more water-resistant and helps protect the blade from humidity. Excess wax may sometimes stick to the blade but does not cause damage. Keep the blade well-oiled to avoid wax sticking.
Can the blades rust?
Yes. Our swords use high-carbon steel, which is not stainless. Always clean and oil the blade after use or after touching it with your hands.
How do I choose the correct blade length for my height?
Guide (height → blade length):
- 150 cm → about 66.5 cm
- 155 cm → about 68 cm
- 160 cm → about 70 cm
- 165 cm → about 71 cm
- 170 cm → about 73 cm
- 175 cm → about 74 cm
- 180 cm → about 76 cm
- 185 cm → about 77 cm
- 190 cm → about 79 cm
