The Fukushima Wakizashi Shinken is a finely handcrafted Japanese short sword designed for martial artists, collectors, and sword enthusiasts who appreciate performance and tradition. Forged using the Maru Kitae method from folded 1060 high carbon steel, this wakizashi is made by heating, layering, and folding two contrasting steel types multiple times. The result is a durable, unified blade with the signature Damascus effect, where each fold creates a beautiful, rippled steel pattern visible across the entire blade.

The blade includes a bohi (fuller), which reduces weight and enhances maneuverability, making this wakizashi ideal for Kenjutsu, Battōdō, and Tameshigiri. It features a full tang construction, secured to the handle with one mekugi (bamboo pin), ensuring strength and safety in daily practice.

The tsuka is wrapped with blue cotton tsukaito over genuine black ray skin (Samegawa), providing durability and a traditional look. The sword is completed with a Shin No Marugata tsuba and comes housed in a black lacquered wooden saya. An elegant purple cotton sword bag is included (sageo not provided).
