The Fukushima Katana Shinken is a handcrafted Japanese sword designed for martial artists and collectors who seek high-performance cutting capability and traditional aesthetics. Forged from folded 1060 high carbon steel using the Maru Kitae method, the blade showcases the mesmerizing Damascus effect, a unique layered pattern created by repeatedly heating, folding, and forging two contrasting steels. This complex process results in a strong, unified blade with both beauty and durability.
The sword features a bohi (fuller), which helps reduce the weight of the blade and improve its handling during fast-paced techniques. This makes it ideal for disciplines such as Kenjutsu, Battōdō, and Tameshigiri. The full tang blade is secured to the handle with two mekugi (bamboo pins), providing excellent stability even under heavy training conditions.
The tsuka is wrapped in blue cotton tsukaito in an alternate tsukamaki style, offering a secure grip and refined look, with genuine ray skin (Samegawa) beneath for traditional authenticity. The katana includes a black lacquered wooden saya, and comes with an elegant purple cotton bag. (Sageo not included.)
Perfectly balanced and reliable, the Fukushima Katana Shinken is suited for both beginners and experienced swordsmen. Every unit passes YariNoHanzo’s strict quality control, ensuring it meets the high standards expected of a true Japanese-style sword.

The Fukushima Wakizashi Shinken is a finely handcrafted Japanese short sword designed for martial artists, collectors, and sword enthusiasts who appreciate performance and tradition. Forged using the Maru Kitae method from folded 1060 high carbon steel, this wakizashi is made by heating, layering, and folding two contrasting steel types multiple times. The result is a durable, unified blade with the signature Damascus effect, where each fold creates a beautiful, rippled steel pattern visible across the entire blade.
The blade includes a bohi (fuller), which reduces weight and enhances maneuverability, making this wakizashi ideal for Kenjutsu, Battōdō, and Tameshigiri. It features a full tang construction, secured to the handle with one mekugi (bamboo pin), ensuring strength and safety in daily practice.
The tsuka is wrapped with blue cotton tsukaito over genuine black ray skin (Samegawa), providing durability and a traditional look. The sword is completed with a Shin No Marugata tsuba and comes housed in a black lacquered wooden saya. An elegant purple cotton sword bag is included (sageo not provided).
Balanced and precise, the Fukushima Wakizashi is suited for both beginners and advanced practitioners. Every piece is reviewed under the YariNoHanzo quality control process, ensuring a product of high craftsmanship and cutting reliability—perfect for use or collection.
