The Ishikawa Katana Shinken is a high-quality, handmade Japanese sword created for martial artists and collectors who demand precision, durability, and traditional craftsmanship. Forged using the Maru Kitae method with folded 1060 high carbon steel, the blade is made by layering two contrasting steel types, repeatedly heated, hammered, and folded. This process creates a strong and unified blade with a distinctive Damascus effect, where every visible layer tells the story of its craftsmanship.

This katana includes a bohi (fuller) to reduce weight and enhance blade responsiveness, making it ideal for practical use in Tameshigiri, Kenjutsu, and Battōdō. The blade is full tang, anchored to the tsuka with two bamboo mekugi, offering excellent stability and performance in daily practice.

The handle is tightly wrapped with black cotton tsukaito using the traditional alternate tsukamaki method, placed over real ray skin (Samegawa) to ensure grip and durability. The katana is fitted with a traditional Roku Mokko iron tsuba and sheathed in a black and red lacquered wood saya for added style and protection. Included is an elegant purple cotton bag (sageo not included).
