SUPERIOR SERIES – SPECIAL EDITION
The Oni Katana Shinken combines powerful Oni, Hannya and Futen-themed Koshirae with a sharp, full-tang Kobuse Kitae blade forged from 1060 and 1095 high-carbon steel. The blade is clay tempered and differentially hardened, featuring a real Gunome Choji hamon and a single bohi.
The Koshirae is inspired by various museum-preserved Japanese pieces and features Oni, Hannya and Futen motifs, together with an Oni-themed Kogatana and Kozuka.

Black Japanese silk Tsuka-Ito made in Japan, Hinerimaki wrapping with Hishigami and genuine black ray-skin Samegawa.

Oni Katana Shinken – Superior Special Edition
The Oni Katana Shinken is a sharp, full-tang handmade katana created for martial arts practice, collection and enthusiasts of Japanese sword craftsmanship. Its Koshirae combines Oni, Hannya and Futen motifs inspired by various pieces preserved in Japanese museums.
Kobuse Kitae Blade
The blade is hand-forged and folded from 1060 and 1095 high-carbon steels using the Kobuse Kitae method. It is clay tempered and differentially hardened to approximately 60/45 HRC. The blade features a real Gunome Choji hamon and a single bohi.

Oni-Themed Koshirae, Tsuka and Saya
The Tsuka is wrapped in high-quality black silk Tsuka-Ito made in Japan, using the Hinerimaki Tsukamaki style with Hishigami. Beneath the wrapping is genuine black ray-skin Samegawa, providing traditional aesthetics and a secure grip.
The 80 cm Saya is made from black lacquered wood in Kuroro finish and includes an Oni-themed Kogatana with Kozuka. The metal Kurikata features a Hannya motif, while the Koiguchi and Kojiri are made from genuine buffalo horn.
This Oni Katana has passed YariNoHanzo quality control and is supplied with a katana maintenance kit and a black/gold silk sword bag with fusahimo, both included at no extra cost.
