The Katana Tombo is an exclusive 18th-anniversary edition, crafted for those who seek perfection, elegance, and top-tier performance. Designed for Iaido, Kendo, and Kenjutsu, this Japanese sword offers the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic excellence. Every detail of the Koshirae has been meticulously designed to provide outstanding performance and a refined, traditional look.
Forged from 1095 high-carbon steel, the clay-tempered blade features a Bohi, reducing weight for improved handling and cutting speed. The "Gunome Choji" hamon, achieved through Japanese-style polishing, showcases the sword’s exceptional craftsmanship. The full tang construction, secured with two Mekugi, ensures durability, stability, and long-lasting performance, making this katana suitable for both training and collection.
The elegant Koshirae is adorned with Tombo (Dragonfly) motifs on the Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira, symbolizing agility, perseverance, and transformation—qualities deeply respected by the samurai. The tsuka, wrapped in premium brown silk Tsukaito, follows the Hineri Maki Tsukamaki style, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip. Beneath it, the genuine ray skin (Samegawa) with Hishigami inserts enhances both the structure and aesthetics of the sword.
The black lacquered Saya, reinforced with buffalo horn Kurikata, Kojiri, and Koiguchi, offers maximum durability while maintaining a sleek, traditional Japanese design. This perfectly balanced katana allows for smooth, precise movements, making it ideal for both beginners and advanced practitioners.
Having successfully passed YariNoHanzo’s strict quality control, the Tombo Katana stands as a testament to the art of Japanese sword-making. Delivered in an elegant burgundy cotton bag, this limited-edition katana is a must-have for collectors and martial artists alike.
