The unsharpened blade is forged from 1060 high-carbon steel in Maru Kitae style, with a deep Bohi to produce a powerful tachikaze (“blade wind sound”)—an audible feedback ideal for kata performance. The etched Gunome Choji-style Hamon gives the blade a classic, authentic appearance without compromising safety during repetitive training.
