Kimura Special Edition: Bakumatsu-inspired proportions and elegant koshirae
The Kimura Katana Shinken – Superior Special Edition is designed for martial artists and collectors who appreciate elegant proportions, traditional details and a functional, sharp Japanese sword.
The measurements of the blade are inspired by katana from the Bakumatsu Era, while the elegant koshirae takes its inspiration from a museum piece.
1095 high-carbon steel with a real Gunome Choji hamon
The blade is made from 1095 high-carbon steel using Maru kitae construction and traditional clay tempering. Its real Gunome Choji hamon is enhanced by Japanese-style polishing.
A single bohi contributes to the handling characteristics of the blade. The full-tang construction is secured to the tsuka with two bamboo mekugi.
Black silk Hinerimaki tsukamaki
The 27.5 cm tsuka is wrapped in black silk tsuka-ito using the Hinerimaki style, with Hishigami inserts. Genuine rayskin samegawa completes the traditional handle construction.
Museum-inspired koshirae and Kuroro/Inro saya
The elegant koshirae is inspired by a museum piece. A Mokkogata tsuba and bronze fuchi and kashira complete the refined appearance of the sword.
The 83 cm black lacquered wooden saya features a Kuroro/Inro finish. The koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are made from genuine buffalo horn.
The Kimura Katana has passed YariNoHanzo quality control.
