The Kamei Katana Shinken is a sharp, full-tang sword featuring a folded and clay-tempered Soshu Kitae blade made from 1045, 1060 and 1095 high-carbon steel. It has no bohi and a real Gunome Choji hamon, with Koshirae faithfully reproduced from museum-preserved Japanese pieces.
This Katana is sharp and suitable for Battodo and Tameshigiri.

Kamei Katana Shinken – Superior Special Edition
The Kamei Katana Shinken is a sharp, full-tang handmade sword designed for martial arts practice, Tameshigiri and collection. Its Koshirae is a faithful reproduction of various pieces preserved in Japanese museums, combining historical inspiration with the performance of a Soshu Kitae blade.
Folded Soshu Kitae Blade
The blade is forged from a composite of 1045, 1060 and 1095 high-carbon steel. The steel is folded and clay tempered, producing a real Gunome Choji hamon. The blade has no bohi and is secured to the Tsuka with two bamboo Mekugi.
This sharp Shinken is suitable for Battodo, Iaido, Kendo, Kenjutsu and Tameshigiri. It is perfectly balanced and suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.
Traditional Koshirae, Tsuka and Saya
The Tsuka is wrapped in Japanese black silk Tsuka-Ito using the Hinerimaki style, with Hishigami and genuine ray skin Samegawa beneath the wrapping.
The Saya is made from 78 cm black lacquered wood in Kuroro/Kuroro Ishime finish. The Koiguchi, Kurikata and Kojiri are made from genuine buffalo horn. The Tsuba is the Hokei model.
This Kamei Katana has passed YariNoHanzo quality control and is supplied with a katana maintenance kit and a black/gold silk sword bag with fusahimo, both included at no extra cost.
